Brownfields Assessment and Remediation

Hamilton Canal District Lowell, Massachusetts The Hamilton Canal District area consisted of approximately 15 acres of formerly vacant and under-utilized land in downtown Lowell, MA.  Watermark assisted the City of Lowell with their plans to redevelop this area into a new vibrant mixed-use neighborhood.  To assess subsurface environmental conditions, the City procured Watermark to conduct American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and subsurface investigations at ten properties on a fast-track schedule that coincided with the City’s aggressive public marketing of that area. FUDS Site Restoration

Naval Auxiliary Landing Field, Charlestown, Rhode Island Watermark provided project planning, remedial action construction and site restoration services, closure reporting, and development of a long-term monitoring plan as part of remedial actions at this Formerly Used Defense Site (FUDS). The planning component of this remediation project included substantial coordination and negotiations with the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM) culminating in an Alternative Method I Cleanup Goal for Site soils which reduced the excavation footprint by more than 40%. Fort Drum Jefferson County, New York Watermark provided environmental services associated with the revision of the Title V Air Permit and Contingency Plan including collection of Geospatial Data in support of the Contingency Plan revision, at Fort Drum.
