Naval Academy Preparatory School Training Facility Renovation

Naval Station Newport Newport, Rhode Island Watermark was awarded a contract with the NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic for the renovation of a 30,000 square foot four-story building located at the Naval Station Newport, RI.  The building was used as a training facility and contained classrooms and a firing range which were in use during the renovations.  This complex renovation project in an occupied space required significant project phasing and close coordination with building occupants. Mental Health Clinic Addition

Hanscom Air Force Base Bedford, Massachusetts Watermark was awarded a Design-Build contract for a Mental Health Clinic Addition to the existing Health Clinic, Building 1900 at Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts.  The footprint of the addition was constrained by the building lines of the existing building. Watermark held a concept design charrette and prepared the Concept, Pre-Final, and Final submittals which included architectural renderings.  Watermark utilized in-house architects and civil engineers for the project. Locker Room Addition

General Mills/Yoplait Methuen, Massachusetts Watermark was awarded a contract from General Mills/Yoplait to expand their facility by designing and building a locker room adjacent to the existing Locker Room and Café at the southwest corner of the building. The design of the new addition included architectural, structural, and civil site drawings as necessary to detail the building.  The project site was in a Flood Plain Zone which necessitated inclusion of a compensatory flood storage area in the design.  Watermark was responsible for securing all necessary permits. Historic Window Replacement

U.S. Custom House New Bedford, Massachusetts Watermark was awarded a contract with the General Services Administration (GSA) to replace 34 historic windows at the U.S. Custom House in New Bedford, Massachusetts. The project included the fabrication and installation of 24 true divided-lite 2/2 windows,  replacement of 9 basement windows and  removal of the existing shutters, priming and painting of all surfaces, and then reinstallation of the shutters.  Prior to work starting, Watermark was required to make anHistoric Preservation submission to State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO) per Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA).

Design/Build Roof Replacement

Naval Support Activity Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Watermark was awarded design-build contract with Naval Facilities Engineering Command Mid-Atlantic (NAVFAC) for the roof replacement of Building #8 at the Naval Support Activity (NSA) in Philadelphia, PA.  This project involved renovation of a building within a historic district.  Work occurred in an occupied space that required significant project phasing and close coordination with building occupants.  The exterior of the building was upgraded with ramps, stairs, guard rails, and hand rails, as required, complying with building and life safety codes.  Exterior doors, windows, and roof structures were painted. Combat Field Service Equipment Facility Construction

U.S. Army Soldier Systems Center Natick, Massachusetts Watermark was awarded a contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District(CENAE) to renovate an existing facility and construct a new pre-engineered building addition at the U.S. Army Soldier Systems Center in Natick, MA.  Watermark provided site drainage, demolition, new foundation and concrete work, installation of a pre-engineered steel building, and interior finishes. Remedial Action Operations and Long Term Monitoring

Former Brunswick Naval Air Station Brunswick, Maine Watermark was awarded a Remedial Action Operations (RAO) and Long Term Monitoring (LTM) contract with Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Mid-Atlantic.  Watermark conducted the Operations & Maintenance of the groundwater extraction and treatment system (GWETS) and performed LTM at the Former Naval Air Station (NAS) Brunswick, Maine.  Since 2011, the GWETS treated a large dissolved phase chlorinated volatile organic plume, which covered approximately 61 acres in what is known as the Eastern Plume.  Semi-annual LTM and reporting are conducted at 6 sites encompassing over 100 wells. Remediation of Contaminated Soils

Baker’s Island Salem, Massachusetts Watermark completed remediation of lead-impacted soil and a lead-based paint abatement project at the historic Baker’s Island Light on Baker’s Island, Salem, Massachusetts.  Work was completed on behalf of the United States Coast Guard (USCG) to address environmental impacts to soil associated with the weathering of lead-based paint on the lighthouse, keeper’s dwellings, and other USCG structures occupying approximately 10 acres on the north side of the island.
