Lowell, Massachusetts Watermark was awarded a contract by the National Park Service to rehabilitate a trolley bridge and a section of the trolley’s railroad track located in downtown Lowell, MA. The work included the demolition of an existing wooden bridge over a canal, the rehabilitation of structural supports and the reconstruction of the wood decking and railings. U.S. Army Soldier Systems Center Natick, Massachusetts Watermark prepared design documents for the replacement of the existing, single-ply ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) roofing system. Work involved preparing an Alternatives Analysis Design Study which identified and evaluated 5 roofing system types suitable for installation on the building. The Design Study recommended a white thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) roofing system for installation. The roof, covering approximately 52,000 SF of area, had significant complexity due to the 94 roof penetrations including curb and equipment mounting.
