Hamilton Canal District Lowell, Massachusetts The Hamilton Canal District area consisted of approximately 15 acres of formerly vacant and under-utilized land in downtown Lowell, MA. Watermark assisted the City of Lowell with their plans to redevelop this area into a new vibrant mixed-use neighborhood. To assess subsurface environmental conditions, the City procured Watermark to conduct American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and subsurface investigations at ten properties on a fast-track schedule that coincided with the City’s aggressive public marketing of that area. Veterans Affairs Medical Center Providence, Rhode Island Watermark was awarded a contract for a facility wide pavement and drainage system design at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) in Providence, RI. Watermark designed facility-wide pavement repairs which included cold milling or complete replacement of pavement, curb replacement, parking lot re-design and drainage structure repairs. Watermark conducted an initial inspection and prepared an Inspection Report to provide the VAMC with information necessary to prioritize and focus the design tasks on the highest priority areas based on the amount of funding available. Veterans Affairs Medical Center Brockton, Massachusetts Watermark prepared design documents for repairing and upgrading a 300,000-gallon elevated water storage tank. The design efforts include the following features: removal and replacement of interior and exterior coating system; provision for containment and environmental protection system; removal and replacement of tank appurtenances such as ladders, guards, gates, railings, and manways; upgrade tank valves and alarms; and lightning protection and obstruction lights. Watermark prepared Design submissions (architectural, civil, electrical, structural, and mechanical engineering disciplines), coordinated independent technical reviews, and participated in design review meetings.

Lowell, Massachusetts Watermark was awarded a contract by the National Park Service to rehabilitate a trolley bridge and a section of the trolley’s railroad track located in downtown Lowell, MA. The work included the demolition of an existing wooden bridge over a canal, the rehabilitation of structural supports and the reconstruction of the wood decking and railings. A section of the trolley tracks adjacent to the Lowell High School was settling and the railroad bed required regrading. U.S. Army Soldier Systems Center Natick, Massachusetts Watermark prepared design documents for the replacement of the existing, single-ply ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) roofing system. Work involved preparing an Alternatives Analysis Design Study which identified and evaluated 5 roofing system types suitable for installation on the building. The Design Study recommended a white thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) roofing system for installation. The roof, covering approximately 52,000 SF of area, had significant complexity due to the 94 roof penetrations including curb and equipment mounting. C.W. Morey Elementary School Lowell, Massachusetts Watermark provided Owner’s Project Manager (OPM) services for the Morey Elementary School in Lowell, MA. The school was a 60,000 square foot Pre-K through 6th grade elementary school located in the Highlands neighborhood. Watermark performed a review of the 90% and 100% design plans and specifications and provided comments to the City and the Architect. Lowell General Hospital Lowell, Massachusetts Watermark was retained by Lowell General Hospital and RTKL Architects to prepare schematic designs and construction documents for $90M Legacy Project. Prior planning for the Oncology Center, fifteen years earlier, allowed for the expansion with only minor modifications to the stormwater management system. After the completion of the Oncology Center, Watermark created a new Planned Development Medical Institution zoning district and campus Master Plan that set the stage for the Legacy Project some ten years later. Veterans Affairs Boston Healthcare Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts Watermark prepared a design/build RFP for a new parking garage adjacent to the existing parking garage in what was a surface parking lot at the Veterans Affairs Boston Healthcare System in Jamaica Plain. The work also included modifications to the existing parking garage and associated site improvements. The project priority was to maximize the number of parking spaces. Naval Auxiliary Landing Field, Charlestown, Rhode Island Watermark provided project planning, remedial action construction and site restoration services, closure reporting, and development of a long-term monitoring plan as part of remedial actions at this Formerly Used Defense Site (FUDS). The planning component of this remediation project included substantial coordination and negotiations with the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM) culminating in an Alternative Method I Cleanup Goal for Site soils which reduced the excavation footprint by more than 40%. Fort Drum Jefferson County, New York Watermark provided environmental services associated with the revision of the Title V Air Permit and Contingency Plan including collection of Geospatial Data in support of the Contingency Plan revision, at Fort Drum. Watermark reviewed the information in existing spill plans including relevant information on spill response resources, spill prevention procedures, and spill prevention training.
